57 kg WFS quarterfinals – Helen Maroulis (USA) dec. Alina Hrushyna Akobiia (Ukraine), 7-4

Hrushyna put on shot clock, Maroulis gets a takedown to lead 2-0, and time runs out on the clock, making it 3-0. Add a late Maroulis takedown in the period and it is 5-0 at the break.

Maroulis with a takedown, 7-0. Hrushnya gets two points to make it 7-2. A late Hrushnya takedown finishes it at 7-4 for Helen Maroulis – onto the semifinals!!

57 kg MFS quarterfinals – Spencer Lee (USA) tech fall Bekzat Almaz Uulu (Kyrgyzstan), 12-2

Almaz Uulu strikes first with a takedown, but Lee responds with a takedown and turn to lead 4-2. Another Lee takedown makes it 6-2, and an ankle lace puts it a 8-2. Lee with a big four-pointer and he gets the technical fall, 12-2.

86 kg MFS quarterfinals – Aaron Brooks (USA) tech fall Hayato Ishiguro (Japan), 11-1

Brooks scores first when Ishiguro is on the shot clock and does not score, 1-0. Ishiguro knots it at 1-1, and that is the score at the break.

Brooks gets a takedown to take a 3-1 lead in the second. Another Brooks attack leads to a takedown, putting Ishiguro right to his back but no fall called, making it 5-1. Brooks with another takedown for a 7-1 lead. Brooks keeps on the attack, gets takedown for 9-1 lead. A double leg closes out the 11-1 technical fall.

57 kg MFS preliminary – Spencer Lee (USA) dec. Wanhao Zou (China), 3-2

Zou on the shot clock. Lee gets the first takedown to lead 2-0, and an additional point to make it 3-0. It is 3-0 for Lee at the break.

Zou scores two step outs in the closing few seconds, but it ends with Lee winning the bout, 3-2, and advancing to the quarterfinals.

86 kg MFS preliminary - Aaron Brooks (USA) dec. Azamat Dauletbekov (Kazakhstan), 4-3

Duck under for Dauletbekov to step out, 1-0. Brooks scores takedown to lead 2-1. We go to the break, 2-1 Brooks.

Brooks to leg attack takedown to make his lead 4-1. They hit Brooks for a caution and two, 4-3. Time runs out and Brooks wins his opener

57 kg WFS preliminary - Helen Maroulis (USA) dec. Anshu (India), 7-2

Helen gets the first takedown for a 2-0 lead at the break.

Helen gets another takedown to start second period, 4-0 and adds an ankle lace, 6-0. Anshu gets a step out point, and a fleeing caution against Maroulis makes it 6-2. Helen gets a high single, ultimately a step out, 7-2, Maroulis wins and advances to quarterfinals

53 kg WFS repechage - Khulan Batkhuyag (Mongolia) pin Dom Parrish (USA), 4:35

Parrish gets the opening takedown to lead 2-0. A high single leads to a stepout, 3-0 Parrish. Batkhuyag forces a stepout 3-1, then a Parrish step out, 4-1. Hip toss by Batkhuyag for two, 4-3. Add a stepout for Batkhuyag, 4-4. Go behind takedown for Batkhuyag, 6-4 at the break.

Batkhuyag takedown makes it 8-4. Trip by Batkhuyag, leads to a pin at 4:35. Batkhuyag advances to bronze medal bout.
