The 2024 U20 World Championships begin on September 2 in Pontevedra, Spain, with Team USA represented by a talented Greco-Roman team with a host of international experience. The competition will be held at the Pontevedra Municipal Sports Hall, and will run through September 8th.

Senior National Team member Aden Attao enters as one of the most accomplished members of the team. A two-time U20 Pan-American champion and a 2022 U20 World Championships bronze medalist, Attao has consistent experience at international events. He has had a successful 2024 campaign, with victories at the U20 World Team Trials and U.S. Open. Attao placed second at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials Challenge Tournament, and is the third-ranking member of the 2024 Senior National Team at 130 kg. Along with the U20 World Championships, Attao is slated to compete at the U23 World Championships in late October.

At 67 kg, Joel Adams will be one to watch in Spain. The 2022 U17 World Champion has proved upward momentum in 2024, securing titles at the U20 World Team Trials and U.S. Open. Adams has been a member of three age-group World Teams, including this team heading to Pontevedra. A 2022 U17 Pan-American Championships gold medalist in both freestyle and Greco-Roman, Adams is prepared to continue his streak of international success as one of the top contenders in his weight class.

Cory Land is primed to return to an international World tournament. A two-time U17 World Team member, including silver the 2021 U17 World Championships, Land’s experience has made him a top competitor at 60 kg.

Otto Black has also had a strong 2024 season, hightlighted by his gold at the U20 Pan-American Championships and victory at the U20 World Team Trials. Competing at 63 kg, Black’s technical skill has earned him strong finishes at top national tournaments. In 2021, Black finished fifth at the U17 World Championships.

Ryder Rogotzke brings experience and success at 87 kg. Rogotzke’s showcases versatility as a champion at the U20 World Team Trials and a runner-up in freestyle. Rogotzke placed eighth at the 2021 U17 World Championships, joining the experienced group in Pontevedra, Spain, this year.

At 55 kg, Isaiah Cortez secured a gold medal at the U20 Pan American Championships and a U20 World Team Trials title this year. In 2021, Cortez won gold in both styles at the U17 Pan American Championships, and will look to add a world medal to his growing resume.

Aydin Rix McElhinney is slated to compete at 77 kg in Spain. Earlier this year, Rix McElhinney earned gold at the 2024 U20 Pan-American Championships.

Patrick Brackett has continued progression in 2024, earning his spot at the World Championships through consistent performances at the national level, including a title at the U20 World Team Trials. Brackett will compete at 72 kg in Pontevedra.

Competing at 97 kg, Soren Herzog has victories at the U20 World Team Trials and U.S. Open in 2024. His approach and style make him a tough opponent, and he’s seeking a World medal at his first international tournament in Spain. Another athlete that will make his international debut is Arian Khosravy, who has had a breakout year in 2024, capturing titles at both the U20 World Team Trials and U.S. Open.

The 2024 U20 World Championships begin on September 2, and all of the action can be broadcast live on FloWrestling. USA Wrestling will provide updates on social media and themat.com. The full schedule is listed below, and Pontevedra, Spain, is six hours ahead of U.S. Eastern time.
