Otto Black named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week presented by U.S. Air Force Special Warfare

Otto Black (Parker, Colo./Colorado Top Team) has been named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week, presented by U.S. Air Force Special Warfare, on December 4, 2024.

The 2024 U20 World silver medalist won a silver medal at the respected Haparanda Cup in Sweden last Saturday.

Black won his first three matches, two of which were 8-0 technical fall victories over Ruslan Stamat of Sweden and Jonatan Jedell of Sweden. In the championship finals, Black fell to William Eckroth of Sweden, the seventh-place finisher at the 2024 U20 World Championships.

In addition to his U20 World medal, Black was fifth at the 2021 U17 World Championships. He was also a 2024 U20 Pan American champion. Black has also won Junior and U20 national titles in Greco-Roman. He is slated to compete at the Haavisto Cup in Ilmajoki, Finland on December 7.
