NORMAN, Okla. – The No. 3 Oklahoma State wrestling team routed No. 21 Oklahoma, 35-3, Friday night at McCasland Field House for its 20th-straight Bedlam dual win, matching a series record set by OSU from 1969-78. The win maintained Oklahoma State's perfect 5-0 record and gave the Sooners their first loss of the year at 3-1.

With the win, the Cowboys' advantage in the series improved to 152-27-10 and 66-15-8 in Norman. Oklahoma State won nine of 10 matches and, just as it has all season, extended the score through several bonus-point wins, doing so five times on Friday. In addition, the Cowboys have now surpassed 30 team points in each of their first five duals for the first time since the 1996-97 season.

"We were the aggressor," head coach David Taylor said. "We were looking to score points. Missed a few bonus point opportunities, but we're putting ourselves in position to do that and that's good."

The performance of the night came at 133 pounds, as Reece Witcraft pulled off a miraculous comeback win over No. 18 Cleveland Belton. Things were looking bleak for Witcraft at the start of the third period, trailing 8-1 and having nearly been pinned himself earlier in the match. His fortunes changed in one swift move, however, putting Belton on his back for the fall and securing a victory in the top 20 matchup.

The Cowboys also picked up a pair of big wins at 141 and 174 pounds, where Tagen Jamison and Dean Hamiti Jr. both beat opponents ranked inside the top 10. Jamison controlled the whole match against No. 9 Mosha Schwartz, scoring two takedowns and a reversal en route to his second top 10 win in the past week and seventh of his career. Fresh off his title at the CKLV Invitational, Hamiti blitzed sixth-ranked Gaven Sax off the first whistle and never let up, claiming the 4-0 win. He improved to 10-0 on the season with six ranked wins and bonus points eight times.

At 184 pounds, Dustin Plott scored three takedowns in the third period for a 19-6 major decision over No. 24 DJ Parker. With the win, Plott became the 46th Cowboy to ever reach 100 total for his career.

Oklahoma State got the rout started with its 125-pound spark plug, Troy Spratley. Having controlled the entire match, Spratley added a takedown in the final seconds to secure the 10-1 major decision and give the team a lead that it would never relinquish.

Newcomers Caleb Fish, Cameron Amine and Wyatt Hendrickson all claimed victories in their first and only Bedlam duals. In his first dual competition as a Cowboy, Fish was commanding from the top position and shut out Carter Schubert, 6-0, while Amine tallied a trio of third-period takedowns in his 14-3 major decision against No. 31 Tate Picklo. Wyatt Hendrickson continued to roll at heavyweight, beating No. 21 Juan Mora by a 19-4 technical fall.

The 197-pound match saw Luke Surber down Bradley Hill, 8-2, thanks to a pair of takedowns, an escape and a riding time point. Surber's final season in Stillwater is off to a roaring start with wins in 10 of his 11 matches.

The Sooners' lone win came at 149 pounds, as No. 20 Willie McDougald squeaked out a thrilling 7-6 win over Carter Young in ride outs.

Oklahoma State will next play host to seventh-ranked Virginia Tech on Thursday, December 19, before taking a short break from competition.
