Brackets released for U17 Pan American Championships in Dominican Republic

The brackets have been released in all three styles for the 2024 U17 Pan American Championships, which begin Thursday, June 27, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
The tournament will feature Greco-Roman on Thursday, women’s freestyle on Friday and men’s freestyle on Saturday. Action begins at 10 a.m. local time each day, with the finals set for 5 p.m. Santo Domingo is in the U.S. Eastern time zone.
The U.S. also has two athletes competing in Beach Wrestling in Piper Zatechka at 70 kg and Terrell Leonard McFarland a 80 kg. Beach wrestling begins at 10 a.m. on Sunday, June 30.

The U.S. men will compete in both Greco-Roman and freestyle competition. The team was selected based on dual-style performance at the U17 Nationals held in Las Vegas, Nev. The women’s side was determined at the U17 Women’s Nationals held in Spokane, Wash.
Returning U17 Pan American champions for the U.S. include Francesca Gusfa, Julianna Ocampo and Charlie Wylie in women’s freestyle. Hailey Delgado and Taina Fernandez bring in experience as U15 Pan American champions. World Medalists at this age group include Jaclyn Bouzakis, a 2023 U17 World Bronze medalist, and Piper Fowler, a 2023 U17 World Champion.
