Central Michigan in front with 97.5 points after day one at MAC Championships

The 2024 MAC Wrestling Championships (March 8-9), hosted by Kent State University at Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center in Kent, Ohio, began on Friday. After one day of action, Central Michigan collected 97.5 points for the lead. Rider is in second place with 86.5 points, George Mason is third with 76.5 points, defending champion Lock Haven is fourth with 67.5 points and Buffalo rounds out the top-five with 62 points.

Six athletes automatically qualified for the 2024 NCAA Championships after placing in their respective weight classes.

The finals are set in all ten weight classes following action on the first day. Full finals pairings, semifinal results and quarterfinal results can be found below.

Saturday will make all the difference as wrestlers make their way through the all-important consolation brackets. Wrestling begins at 11:30 a.m. with place matches slated for a 3 p.m. start. Brackets and results can be found here.
