Events Operations Assistant

JOB DESCRIPTION
General Purpose:
The Events Operations Assistant is responsible for supporting all aspects of the Events department operations to include but not limited to websites, registration, and event logistics and execution. The Operations Assistant will be expected to collaborate with all staff departments, athletes, sponsors, vendors, and volunteers, while also being able to work independently in a dynamic fast paced environment. This position is full-time with the expectation of weekend availability during scheduled events. The Events Operation Assistant reports to the Director of National Events.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and complete administrative tasks such as creating event websites, completing finance forms, and making arrangements for virtual and in person meetings.
• Manage inventories and coordinate all areas of shipping equipment and other supplies, including contract negotiation.
• Assist with set-up of USA Wrestling events, including venue layout, sponsorship fulfillment, and general venue appearance including but not limited to putting up signage and banners.
• Manage volunteers during events and train various levels of volunteers as needed.
• Responsible for set up and networking of computers, printers, score-clocks, and servers at USA Wrestling Events.
• Manage transportation and lodging logistics for officials, staff, and volunteers.
• Assist with driving trailer containing USA Wrestling events supplies to and from select national events.
• Able to lift and carry heavy objects over 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time during events.
• Pack, load, and unload materials and equipment before and after events.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of National Events.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree, Business or Sport Administration or related degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Minimum two years of related experience.
• Disciplined, energetic self-starter with solid interpersonal skills and a desire to help others.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability and comfortable driving long distances with a trailer.
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience working with database systems is a plus.
• Must be able to successfully pass a USA Wrestling background screening and completion of SafeSport training (prior to hire date).

Travel Expectations:
Frequent travel, including weekends required (minimum of 15 times per year)
Hiring Pay Range:
$55,000 - $60,000 per year depending on experience.

The USA Wrestling Office is located in Colorado Springs, CO - ability to work from the office is required.
