Thompson, Milsaps, Jackson take U15 freestyle titles, double up in Las Vegas

Lincoln Hinchman of Contenders Wrestling Academy works for a takedown in the 68 kg finals.
LAS VEGAS – The U15 age group wrapped at the 2025 CLAW U.S. Open Championships with an eventful set of boys freestyle finals held on Friday evening at The Expo at World Market Center.
Three individuals added a freestyle title to the resume after already capturing Greco-Roman gold earlier in the week—Johnathan Thompson of Sebolt Wrestling Academy at 38 kg, Mason Milsaps of Boneyard Wrestling Academy at 57 kg and Daniel Jackson of Southern Illinois Bulldogs Wrestling Club at 85 kg.
Two more Greco-Roman champions were in position to repeat—Riley Watts of MWC Wrestling Academy at 62 kg and Tommy Rowlands of Ohio Crazy Goats Wrestling at 68 kg—but came up a win short. Watts dropped a 10-8 decision to Jaimon Mogard of Moen Wrestling Academy, and Rowlands fell 9-6 to Lincoln Hinchman of Contenders Wrestling Academy, in the finals.
44 kg champion Brody Compau punctuated an impressive tournament with a 10-0 technical fall over Ausome Guillermo of Coachella Valley Wrestling Club. Campau took out returning champion Evan Restivo 13-10, in the semis. Restivo was the only 2024 champion to return to the field in 2025.
Other champions who brought home technical fall wins in the finals were Rylen Wax of Beast Mode Wrestling at 41 kg and Xavier Seabury of North Babylon Athletic Club at 48 kg.
Roman Tuttle of Wichita Training Center at 52 kg and Chaney Lewis Jr. of Pennsylvania at 75 kg round out the list of U15 freestyle champions.
Placers from Friday’s event earned points toward a U15 Pan American Team berth, which will be decided based on combined results from the Greco-Roman and freestyle tournaments. The U15 Pan American Team will be announced at a later date, once finalized by USA Wrestling.
Medal match results, semifinal results and the top eight placers in each weight class are listed below.
The 2025 CLAW U.S. Open Championships resumes at 10 a.m. (PT) on Saturday with Senior Greco-Roman, Senior men’s freestyle, U20 men’s freestyle and U17 men’s freestyle competition. A detailed schedule is available at usawrestlingevents.com.
All the action from Las Vegas will be broadcast live on FloWrestling. Brackets and match-by-match results are available through USA Bracketing, USA Wrestling’s new best-in-class event management software.
