Attao to wrestle in both styles at the Sirakov–Iliev International in Bulgaria this weekend

Two-time age-group World medalist Aden Attao (Boise, Idaho/Beaver Dam RTC) will compete in both Greco-Roman and freestyle at the Petko Sirakov – Ivan Iliev International in Sofia, Bulgaria, Feb. 14-16.
Attao has won two U20 World Greco-Roman bronze medals, claiming his first in 2022 and his second in 2024. He is currently a member of the Senior Greco-Roman National Team, after placing third in the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials. Attao is also a freshman student athlete at Oregon State. He was a 2022 Pan American U20 champion
He has a long history of competing in both international styles. At the 2024 U20 World Team Trials, he was a champion in Greco-Roman and third in freestyle. At the 2023 USMC Junior Nationals, he was a Greco-Roman champion and runner-up in freestyle. In 2020, he was a Junior Nationals champion in both freestyle and Greco-Roman.
Attao will open up his competition on Saturday, February 15, by competing in the 130 kg weight class in Greco-Roman. He will wrestle the next day, Sunday, February 16, in the 125 kg weight class in men’s freestyle. He is the only U.S. athlete entered in the competition.
