DES MOINES, Iowa – The Junior Boys semifinals are set at the 2025 Air Force Special Warfare 16U and Junior Nationals after an energetic day of wrestling at MidAmerican Energy Complex RecPlex, the new host venue of USA Wrestling’s premier folkstyle event.

Five athletes in the Junior Boys division are still in the running for repeat bids—Cason Craft of Oklahoma, Caleb Noble of Illinois, Geronimo Rivera of Utah, Taye Wilson of Kansas and Leimana Fager of Utah.

Craft and Noble have looked head and shoulders above the field on Friday and appear on a collision course to meet in the 113-pound finals. Craft posted a 2-0 record with a technical fall and major decision to his credit. Noble won each of his three matches by fall with his longest bout lasting 2:49.

Rivera went 4-0 on the day with three bonus-point wins, plus a 10-3 decision over Colorado’s Nick Dardanes in the quarterfinals, at 138 pounds. Up next is Arizona’s Dean Anderson in the semifinal round.

It was two pins and two technical falls for Wilson, who dominated the 165-pound bracket to this point. He is the on-paper favorite in his semifinal against Iowa’s Xayvion Anderson. The big news at 165 was past USA Wrestling Triple Crown winner and three-time Iowa state champion Kyler Knaack falling in the quarters to Florida’s Claudio Torres in sudden victory.

Fager bagged the fastest pin of the day, a 16-second inside trip finish on Indiana’s Daniel Jones in round one, before stopping Carter Green of Kansas, 7-1, in the 215-pound quarters.

Six of last year’s 16U national champions bumped up to the Junior level and remain undefeated—Tyler Sweet of California, Gavin Landers of Iowa, Steel Meyers of Texas, Aaron Stewart of Illinois, Deacon Moran of Missouri and Jonathan Rulo of Illinois.

Returning champion and Outstanding Wrestler Dorian Olivarez of Texas was upended in the 144-pound quarters by Jayce Paridon of Florida in sudden victory, 2-1. Another notable upset came at heavyweight with Wisconsin’s Nehemiah Lendobeja defeating 2024 U17 World Team member Trayvn Boger of Utah, 4-1, in overtime.

The Junior Boys tournament continues at 9 a.m. (CT) on Saturday with the championship semifinals, followed by the medal matches at 11 a.m. Visit usawrestlingevents.com for a complete schedule of events for every division.
