DES MOINES, Iowa – The 2025 Air Force Special Warfare 16U and Junior Folkstyle Nationals concluded on Sunday afternoon at MidAmerican Energy Complex RecPlex with a spirited medal round session in the 16U Boys division. Missouri’s Wyatt Dannegger completed the repeat and Kansas’ Thunder Page was named Outstanding Wrestler in the division.

Dannegger, a double All-American in Fargo, N.D., last summer, notched a 10-1 major decision on AJ Woerpel of Wisconsin in the 100-pound championship bout. He completed a 4-0 run with two pins on the road to gold. Danneger was the lone repeat champion at the 16U age-level this weekend.

Page capped off his phenomenal run to the 150-pound title with a 20-4 technical fall over Lincoln Hinchman of Indiana. Page completed the tournament with four technical falls and a pin to cement his OW status. He was a Greco-Roman All-American at the 16U Nationals in Fargo, N.D., last summer.

Earning impressive pins in the finals were 144-pound champion Braden Shoemaker of South Dakota and 165-pound champion William Fullhart of Iowa. Shoemaker scored pins in three of his four matches this weekend. Fullhart went for two pins and two technical falls. Both men were among the most dominant performers in the 16U Boys division.

Also coming to the finish with bonus-point victories in the finals were Gabriel Ryzyi of Michigan at 94 pounds, Deklan Barr of Pennsylvania at 120 pounds, Bruno Pallone of Montana at 190 pounds and Ceasar Salas of Indiana at 215 pounds. Ryzyi and Barr earned major decisions, while Pallone and Salas won by technical fall in the finals.

Also taking top prize on Sunday in the 16U Boys division were Coy Mehlert of Iowa at 106 pounds, Blake Nevils of Idaho at 126 pounds, Carson Neubert of Wisconsin at 132 pounds, Riker Ohearon of Utah at 138 pounds, Carter Barrio of Arizona at 157 pounds and Maximus Purdy of Illinois at 175 pounds.

Andrew Olson of Minnesota was crowned tournament champion after going undefeated in the 285-pound round-robin bracket. Olson went 4-0 with two pins, a major decision and a forfeit to his credit.

Two 16U Boys weight classes were decided on Saturday. Missouri’s Max Lindquist was the lone entrant at 88 pounds, giving him the automatic victory. It was a different story at 113 pounds as Arkansas’ Lewis Davis and Iowa’s Hendrix Schwab met for the title as the Saturday session nightcap. Davis opened up a double-digit lead on Schwab and hung on for an electric 18-9 win to earn his stop sign award. The 133-pound final was wrestled on Saturday due to a scheduling conflict with one of the participants.
