Miracle competed in both the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan as well as the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France. She also won World silver medals in both 2021 and 2022, making four Senior World Teams. Miracle is a four-time age-group World medalist, with medals at the U17, U20 and U23 levels. This camp series has been developed and launched by USA Wrestling’s National Women’s Developmental Coach Jessica Medina. Motivated young women athletes ages 13-18 are encouraged to register for these amazing educational opportunities. Medina will be on the coaching staff at the Western Regional Development Camp in Phoenix.
All high school wrestlers are eligible to attend this camp, regardless of experience and achievement levels. In addition, any U15 All-American wrestlers may also sign up. This will be a commuter camps, three days in length.
“I am excited to head to Arizona to help run the western regional camp with Kayla Miracle as the clinician. As a Senior-level athlete, I had the opportunity to train with Sunkist Kids and ASU. There is a growing amount of talent not only in Arizona but in the surrounding states. My goal is to create more freestyle opportunities for youth girls and bring everyone together. It is our job to provide resources and education to the next generation of female wrestlers,” said Medina.
In addition to helping develop the skills and experience of those athletes in the camp, there will be focus on also developing the abilities of coaches in the region.
“Another piece we are developing is a session for coaches to create a network and provide freestyle resources, especially to girls wrestling coaches. I look forward to working with USA Wrestling Arizona as well as the coaches and athletes within the Western region,” said Medina.
Each camp will feature a highly-qualified USA Wrestling National Team member as a clinician, and will also include a lead coach from USA Wrestling’s National Volunteer Coaching Pool or the National Women’s staff. Each camp will cover a standardized curriculum.
