Our mission is to empower and transform the lives of youth through the sport of wrestling, with a particular emphasis on under-resourced and underserved communities in the Greater Los Angeles Area.
The Associate Director of Mentorship and Programming plays a pivotal role in the mission of Beat the Streets, working closely with the Executive Director and Director of Development. This position is responsible for the effective planning, execution, and supervision of all wrestling programming in accordance with BTSLA's mission and vision. The position will oversee a team of coaches/mentors, ensuring the delivery of high-quality programs that empower and transform the lives of youth.

Position Description: The Associate Director of Mentorship and Programming plays a pivotal role in the mission of Beat the Streets, working closely with the Executive Director and Director of Development. This position is responsible for the effective planning, execution, and supervision of all wrestling programming in accordance with BTSLA's mission and vision. The position will oversee a team of coaches/mentors, ensuring the delivery of high-quality programs that empower and transform the lives of youth.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the Mentorship and Wrestling Center
• Ability to work from the office is required.
• Direct, plan, and coordinate the work of program mentors/coaches, including supervision, training, and team building.
• Organize and attend organizational meetings to maintain effective communication.
• Ensure adequate and qualified coaches/mentors/volunteers carry out program activities.
• Supervise and manage the data collection process, compiling, maintaining, and reporting program statistics.
• Analyze trends in the program, identifying issues, and developing and recommending solutions to the executive director.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate recruitment strategies to expand the number of coaches, partners, and volunteers supporting the program.
• Expand programs and form new partnerships where appropriate.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase the number of participants in all BTSLA programs.
• Deliver skills development/coaches education workshops relevant to BTSLA’s mission and vision.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of a BA/BS Degree in a related field.
• Strong problem-solving and group work leadership skills.
• Ability to interact with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Sound computer skills.
• Effective oral and written communication skills with exceptional attention to details.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Access to a vehicle.
