Brackets released for U20 Pan American Championships in Lima, Peru

LIMA, Peru – The brackets have been released in all three styles for the 2024 U20 Pan American Championships, which begin tomorrow in Lima, Peru.
The U.S. will field an exceptional roster that includes four defending champions—Aden Attao in Greco-Roman, Ella Schmit in women’s freestyle, and Luke Lilledahl and Camden McDanel in men’s freestyle. Attao, Lilledahl and McDanel are all World medalists at the U20 age level.
There are five more American athletes who have previously earned World medals in the U17 division—Cory Land in Greco-Roman, Skylar Hattendorf in women’s freestyle, and Bo Bassett, Ladarion Lockett and Zack Ryder in men’s freestyle. Bassett and Lockett each hold the title of U17 World champion, Bassett from 2021 and Lockett last year.
This event will serve as a final tune up for the upcoming U20 World Championships for 13-of-20 men’s athletes. Seven members of the U20 Greco-Roman World Team will compete in Lima, as will six members of the U20 Men’s Freestyle World Team.
The U20 Pan American Championships will feature Greco-Roman on Thursday, women’s freestyle on Friday and men’s freestyle on Saturday. Action begins at 10 a.m. local time each day. Lima, Peru, is located one hour behind U.S. Eastern Time.
