The 2024 Senior World Championships conclude on Thursday from Feti Borova Sports Hall in Tirana, Albania. Today will feature the men's freestyle repechage rounds and medal matches. Updates and results from each Team USA match can be found below.

Match Notes
92 kg Bronze Medal Match – David Taylor (United States) dec. Kamran Ghasempour (Iran), 6-2
Short high-c attempt by Ghasempour, Taylor circles out of it. Ghasempour will go on the shot clock at the 4:14 mark in the first period. Ghasempour gets in deep on the high-c, switches to a double leg, runs his feet and finishes to go up 2-0 while nullifying the shot clock. The period ends 2-0 for Ghasempour. Taylor gets close to catching the ankle off the whistle, but Ghasempour kicks out. Taylor captures both legs from space and is able to score his first takedown of the match. Fresh start with 2:23 to go, Taylor holding criteria, 2-2. Taylor right back in on the ankle and lands it this time to go up 4-2. A much higher pace for Taylor so far this period. Shot re-shot flurry with one minute to go, no points on the exchange. Taylor finishes it off with a re-attack takedown with three seconds on the board and he wins the bronze medal with a 6-2 win. Taylor takes a moment to soak it in and gives a wave to the crowd as he steps off the competition mat for the last time.
61 kg Bronze Medal Match – Vito Arujau (United States) dec. Zavur Uguev (Individual Neutral Athlete), 8-3
Lightning quick single leg for Arujau to go up 2-0 and take Uguev off the mat. Knee pull single leg attempt for Arujau gets close, but Uguev counters out of it. Uguev drives Arujau off the mat with one minute to go in the period, Arujau leads, 2-1. Uguev takes blood time. The first period ends 2-1 Arujau after a good scrap. Arujau caught underneath in a chest lock off his own shot attempt, no points. Arujau ducks under the right side and swings around for a takedown. The action stops and he’s visibly hurt on his left hand at the restart and receiving medical attention. High-c for Uguev, Arujau does a great job circling out of it. Arujau pounces from space to the ankles of Uguev and gets his third takedown of the match. Uguev back to his high-c, lifts and is able to secure it this time for two. Fresh start with 35 seconds to go and it’s 6-3 Arujau. Arujau finishes it off with a blast double leg to take the match, 8-3. Great performance from Arujau.
92 kg Repechage – David Taylor (United States) tech. fall Lars Schaefle (Germany), 11-1
Schaefle gets put on the shot clock at the 4:20 mark of the first period. The shot clock expires, and Taylor takes a 1-0 lead. Taylor close to capturing a single leg, Schaefle kicks out. Taylor is back on a shot on the edge, Schaefle close to stepping out, but circles and Taylor ends stepping out. Immediately, Taylor returns to hit a takedown-to-turn combo as time expires in the first period. Taylor leads 5-1 at the break. Taylor finishes a double leg with 1:06 to go after a little back-and-forth hand fighting. High-c with a great finishing angle for Taylor, and he adds a gutwrench to take the 11-1 technical fall.
92 kg Repechage – David Taylor (United States) dec. Abubakr Abakarov (Azerbaijan), 3-1
Taylor gets in on head-inside single leg, gets flipped to a head outside position and stalled out. Taylor is put on the shot clock at the 4:30 mark of the first period. Abakarov takes a 1-0 lead from the shot clock expiring. Single leg, head outside for Taylor, Abakarov cuts the corner, and Taylor almost gives up a go-behind but is able to fight it off. Abakarov leads 1-0 at the break. Shot from Abakarov off the whistle and Taylor goes behind for the score, nice limp leg extension to get it done. Abakarov is put on the shot clock with 2:04 left. The shot clock expires, and Taylor goes up 3-1. Abakarov with a head inside single, Taylor fends him off for the remainder of the match to win it 3-1.
