The numbers do not lie.

Based upon the data, the 2025 Girls National High School Recruiting Showcase in Las Vegas, April 23-24 will be the strongest field in event history, going back to the inaugural event in 2021.

Going into the final weekend before the event is held, there are 149 high school state champions or National Prep champions in the field, as well as 99 nationally ranked wrestlers. Both will be records for this event.

The Girls National High School Recruiting Showcase was designed for the nation’s best wrestlers to show off their abilities, with the aim of giving college coaches and recruiters a chance to evaluate potential college student-athletes. Based upon this year’s registration, the event is certain to achieve its mission.

This event features freestyle wrestling, which is the style that is competed in women’s college wrestling.

For this event, USA Wrestling tracks the high school state champions and Prep National champions in the field and shares that information prior to the competition. Below is a list of all of the state champions and nationally ranked athletes who signed up by April 17. (Note: The registration remains open so additional athletes are expected to compete).

There are four athletes who are currently No. 1 in the most recent National Girls High School Rankings in the field, Jaclyn Bouzakis of Pennsylvania (100), Taina Fernandez of Maryland (135), Brooke Huffman of Wisconsin (190) and Tirza TwoTeeth of Montana (235). Fernandez is the No. 1 ranked wrestler in the Pound-For-Pound Rankings, while Bouzakis is No. 5, TwoTeeth is No. 15 and Huffman is No. 22.

There are three entries who qualified for the 2025 U17 World Team, Bouzakis, Fernandez and Emma Bacon of Pennsylvania (125).

As of April 17, there are four returning Showcase champions in the field, Bouzakis, Bacon, Louise Juitt of Missouri (140) and Tilisa Matakaiongo of Utah (235).

The 100-pound weight class features No. 1 Bouzakis, No. 2 Madison Nieuwenhuis of Michigan, No. 5 Lilly Breeden of Missouri and No. 7 Justice Gutierrez of Colorado.

The weight class with the most state/National Prep champions and nationally ranked wrestlers is 125 pounds, with 19 athletes who meet that level of achievement. Every weight class is loaded with state champions and nationally ranked athletes.

This tournament has traditionally had a major impact on the National Girls High School Rankings. What makes it especially interesting is the opportunity for wrestlers who have not yet been recognized nationally to make a name for themselves.

The event is also intentionally held alongside the U.S. Senior Nationals for women’s wrestling, which allows the high school athletes to be exposed to the highest level of women’s freestyle wrestling in the nation. There are some athletes who are entered in both the Girls National High School Recruiting Showcase and the U.S. Senior Nationals.

All of the action will be broadcast live on FloWrestling.
